The capital of the canton of Uri is located in the lower Reuss Valley, south of Lake Lucerne. Altdorf is easily accessible from various regions of Central Switzerland. The distance to Lucerne is about 40 kilometers, which corresponds to a driving time of around 30 minutes. From Zurich Airport, Altdorf can be reached by car in about an hour (approx. 86 km). The train ride via Zurich Main Station takes just under two hours.
